Ever since it was founded in the last third of the 19th century, the Orfeón Pamplonés has been a non-profit civil association, forming what has since then been referred to as a Choral Society. The Institution consists of its members, which include Honorary Members, Emeritus Members, Singing Members, Candidate Singing Members, Sponsoring Members and Students of the Music School.
According to the Institution’s Statutes, the foremost specific purpose of the Orfeón Pamplonés is to cultivate choral music and encourage this art form in all its manifestations, bearing the name of Pamplona and Navarre wherever it may go with dignity.
In addition to maintaining a choir at the forefront of the music scene, the institution has two other chief objectives: first, a strong educational vocation geared towards cultivating music; and, second, the promotion of its historical and musical heritage, and its dissemination as a service to society. The conservation of a unique historical and cultural heritage, bequeathed to it by its predecessors and formed over years of dedication.
The Orfeón Pamplonés currently consists of more than 400 people.
